Special Visitors To School!

On Wednesday 26 October we had some special visitors visit The Landing.
5 baby rabbits!
They were 4 week old Flemish Giant bunnies and belonged to Willow.
We all enjoyed giving them a wee cuddle.

I loved seeing the bunnies.  They were cute.  They were soft like petals.  I love bunnies.  They were warm like hot chocolates.

Thank you to those folk who have already paid for swimming. We appreciate those generous donations that have also come in also.

Life Education

We had a lovely couple of sessions visiting the Life Education caravan and meeting Harold the Giraffe.
We talked about the things that make us happy and healthy (our Hauora value).
Then we learned about our special  invisible bucket and how we can be bucket fillers - for ourselves and other people.  We learned that if we are bucket dippers to others, our bucket gets dipped as well.
We also learned about empathy and "walking in someone else's shoes".
It's okay to feel (sad / angry ...) but we can't be a dipper.
Sulking / dipping doesn't solve the problem.
We have lots of valuable activities and learning we will do to follow-up from these sessions.

Welcome Back

Welcome back to Term 4!
We hope you have had a happy and safe break.
We have lots of exciting things planned for this term - and first up we have Life Education visiting.
Just a reminder - Term 4 is a sunhat term.  (In anticipation of the warmer weather!).

Cultural Day

We had a great day at the Cultural Day.
We looked at all the different cultures the learners in The Landing identify with.  It was fun looking at the map, seeing clothing, listening to music and hearing stories.
We tried lots of different types of bread!  Yum!!
